By Tara Sutphen
The Full Blue Moon (Native American) at 10* Libra will culminate, March 31, 2018 5:37am PDT/8:37am EDT/New Zealand April 1, 2018 1:37am (Farmers Almanac).
This Libra Moon is asking us to develop our balance and synch to our abilities. You are to look for what naturally fits to your nature and not add a square peg to a round hole, when it comes to anything you want to do or achieve. This moon and its aspects are all about you coming back to your lovability and congeniality. Your destiny is to flow, if there is a question to any direction, it is not the right answer. We aren’t supposed to know everything, but when we use our inner guidance system. We gain a perspective of going in the right direction over a wrong one. And if we tend toward destructive behavior in any way, that certainly isn’t the right direction. We are constantly need to come back to center, being brave and in resonance no matter the outside circumstances. Allow for Grace. What makes you feel at peace, practice that feeling every day.

*How to become balanced:
PHYSICAL: health and the way we treat our cleanliness, posture, and overall treat our bodies is a part where being balanced. Our body is the most precious gift we have and without it we can’t exist. If we don’t stay healthy we certainly can’t enjoy all the other aspects of life.
2. MENTAL: You want to exercise your mind to keep it working properly. Keep your cognitive abilities sharp. If you don’t take care of your body it will deteriorate, and this can also be true of your mind.
3. EMOTIONAL: Managing our emotions is important. When engaging with our feelings it’s best to work with our intelligence. In this way we learn what we want and how we can be fulfilled. We need always to resolve our feelings and never be irrational. It’s easy to forget how to manage our emotional world.

4.SOCIAL: There is a certain amount of human socializing people need. We learn to treat humankind with courtesy and fairness when we are interacting with each other. Sometimes there are wonderful connections we naturally make. Camaraderie and joy can easily be attained. But how about when dissension or bad feelings come up, those need to be handled and dealt with emotionally. Even if you don’t like to interact with people there is a certain spacial sharing humans need.
5.FINANCES: Whether you are working in a career or a job, it’s important to bring value to your and others lives. We are all a part of a cycle of service to mankind, to ourselves and to our Families. Money is an energetic transference. Learn what your skills are and practice being the best you can be.
6.SPIRITUAL: The relationship you create between yourself and the universe. You can fight your life every day or you can come into resonance and be in reverence of all the opportunities and possibilities life has your offer you. If you begin to feel blessed, this will carry into your speaking, your actions and into a better future.

Full Strawberry Moon

By Tara Sutphen

The Full Strawberry Moon (Native American) at 18* Sagittarius will culminate June 9, 2017 6:10AM PdT/June 9, 2017 9:10AM EdT (Farmers Almanac/Moon Phases Calendar). The current phase of the moon is a Waxing Gibbous (98.7% illuminated), 13.7 days old and at a distance of 405266 Km (251821 Miles).

This Full Moon in Sagittarius is all about great individual power, depth of knowledge and wisdom. This month becomes an important one.  You are to look at your psychological blocks and venture to break them. Moving past limited beliefs becomes a step toward true liberation. First we must recognize what holds us back, as sometimes people or circumstances confuse us. We may think we are NOT ‘pretty enough, smart enough, educated enough or good enough’ to achieve what we want. Our minds are full of beliefs and dreams, and sometimes self-sabotage. Ideas may only be ideas for their own sake, but when you express an opinion, you can determine if they are empty thoughts or stimulated beginnings. Thirst for knowledge and be enthused to what quenches your thirst. How to begin to create your own distinct effect for yourself and others. We are never too young or too old to do the right things to make life matter.

Here are some ways to step into your greater self. What have you learned that you can teach or share with another. Learning something new, even if it’s the simplest facts to feel more fulfilled. Managing emotions, stop worrying what others think. Fill your head with meaningful information and job skills, grow and learn. Working on personal appearance, stop thinking about being popular or evoking fads. Health is always a plus. Strive to stay in the present moment. Have an open mind. Look forward to an optimistic future. Goal setting. Enjoying modesty and nature. Being gentle on yourself and others. Creating harmony and safety for your loved ones. Letting go of fear. Focus on solutions rather than problems. Rest and Meditate. Remember: your life is where your feet are…

Creating plans

— First we must speak and then act to thrive. Results take time to implement. Plans are needed to fix stilted issues.  We are on an individual journey, we are cast in this world to achieve our reveries and maybe to dispel a few nightmares. We’ve had many experiences we weren’t prepared for, yet we carry on, and gain more wisdom or more baggage. It is our choice to release oppression, omission, misunderstandings, unruliness, thoughtlessness, bullying or judgement… Turn away from malicious minds, as it is in your best interest to transform into maximum excellence. Proceed to live to your highest honor and ideals.

Full Pink Moon

By Tara Sutphen

The Full Pink Moon (Native American) at 21* Libra will culminate April 10, 2017 11:09PM PdT/April 11, 2017 2:09pm EdT/April 11, 2017 6:09PM New Zealand/ April 11, 2017 4:09PM Gold Coast, Australia (Farmers Almanac/Moon Phases Calendar). The current phase of the moon is a Full Moon (99.2% illuminated), 13.9 days old and at a distance of 395424 Km (245705 Miles).

This Full Moon in Libra is all about graciousness. If you’ve been being harsh on yourself or others, now is the time to halt the criticism. You are deserving of a great life, and one of the boundaries we can set up for ourselves is to create peace in our hearts and minds. Even if you don’t have a lot of free time while working to survive, when coming off the job many don’t realize they continue reacting to outside stimulation and obligations. Many of us are conditioned to be busy or in constant movement. For our optimum contentment, we actually need to take a moment to breathe deeply and put our minds in a relaxed state along with aspired usefulness. There is a balance of finding a moment of peaceful inner understanding. Many would say that is the time we sleep, but that’s just it, we’re not consciously aware at that time. Taking minutes or moments while being conscious with some deep breathing can quiet the mind, give us glimpses of re-direction, happy memories, new hopes, or just an easing of the day.

Keeping it all on a positive note. Easy days are started by a good tempo of upbeat enthusiasm. If you can muster up some cheer, it lightens your day and of others. If you’ve been unhappy it’s always the roadmap of life to change your progress. Of course we all know people who are afraid and take no risks at all, but they’re usually in constant criticism or finding an outside substance to quelling their fears. Keeping our minds clear to make the best decisions possible usually isn’t made in haste or under duress. It’s the conception of what is the finest intentions for your life. You are the creator of your reality…

— Being Appreciative of yourself and others is not about ego. It can be recognition of positive traits. It possibly could be the Animas within, on a soul level we know what we find beautiful in the world and we all want to be a part of it. We can never walk in others shoes but we can stroll a sweet journey.

To Sorce for Money

By Tara Sutphen

I stared at the US Dollar Bill, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Here I was in Sedona, Arizona with a few participants from my Mystic Training for lunch on the first day. Last March I was in New Zealand and Jules Bonny, Yvonne Neal and I decided we would do a little money game. I’m always playing with sorcery and intention. Jules and I decided to create the movement of money, she gave me some New Zealand Money, and I wrote and prayed on a $100. US Bill and a $1.00 US bill, giving it to Jules and her shop partner Yvonne to pass around. I wrote it out as a double conundrum, TY Jewels (thank you) = Tara, Yvonne & Jules. Our lives being an illusionary dream in the earth’s magnetic field afford us to play these positive target games. Don’t we all want to create the flow of comfort, nourishment or material gain. I call it sorcing, it’s just a form of praying but I use a little more psychic umph.

My New York participant Gabrielle Revere had given me this dollar, we were at the Planet Diner. I paid for lunch with my credit card and the few who were there gave me cash to reimburse me for their meal. I asked Gabrielle where she got this dollar. She didn’t know Jules, she’d only met her a few hours before and Jules hadn’t come to lunch with us. I asked if they had exchanged money, and she said no, but she’d gotten change for a bottle of water at the front desk of her hotel. And that’s the only place she’d spent money in Sedona as she’d only gotten in the night before. None of my other participants were staying at that hotel. I asked if she’d noticed the writing on the dollar and she said she had. I said it’s my handwriting… And for this dollar to come back to me must be a huge percentage, more than a million to one.

Mabon
Autumn Equinox, 2nd Harvest, September 20/21/22 September 22, 2016 (Almanac)

Mabon, (pronounced MAY-bun, MAY-bone, MAH-boon, or MAH-bawn) is the Autumn Equinox. The Autumn Equinox divides the day and night equally, and we all take a moment to pay our respects to the impending dark. We also give thanks to the waning sunlight, as we store our harvest of this year’s crops. The Druids call this celebration, Mea’n Fo’mhair, and honor the The Green Man, the God of the Forest, by offering libations to trees. Offerings of ciders, wines, herbs and fertilizer are appropriate at this time. Wiccans celebrate the aging Goddess as she passes from Mother to Crone, and her consort the God as he prepares for death and re-birth.

Various other names for this Lesser Wiccan Sabbat are The Second Harvest Festival, Wine Harvest, Feast of Avalon, Equinozio di Autunno (Strega), Alben Elfed (Caledonii), or Cornucopia. The Teutonic name, Winter Finding, spans a period of time from the Sabbat to Oct. 15th, Winter’s Night, which is the Norse New Year.

At this festival it is appropriate to wear all of your finery and dine and celebrate in a lavish setting. It is the drawing to and of family as we prepare for the winding down of the year at Samhain. It is a time to finish old business as we ready for a period of rest, relaxation, and reflection.

Symbolism of Mabon:
– Second Harvest, the Mysteries, Equality and Balance.

Symbols of Mabon:
– Wine, gourds, pine cones, acorns, grains, corn, apples, pomegranates, vines such as ivy, dried seeds, and horns of plenty.

Herbs of Maybon:
– Acorn, benzoin, ferns, grains, honeysuckle, marigold, milkweed, myrrh, passionflower, rose, sage, solomon’s seal, tobacco, thistle, and vegetables.

Foods of Mabon:
– Breads, nuts, apples, pomegranates, and vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, and onions.

Incense of Mabon:
– Autumn Blend-benzoin, myrrh, and sage.

Colors of Mabon:
– Red, orange, russet, maroon, brown, and gold.

Stones of Mabon:
– Sapphire, lapis lazuli, and yellow agates.

Activities of Mabon:
– Making wine, gathering dried herbs, plants, seeds and seed pods, walking in the woods, scattering offerings in harvested fields, offering libations to
trees, adorning burial sites with leaves, acorns, and pine cones to honor those who have passed over.

Spellworkings of Mabon:
– Protection, prosperity, security, and self-confidence. Also those of harmony and balance.

Deities of Mabon:
– Goddesses-Modron, Morgan, Epona, Persephone, Pamona and the Muses. Gods-Mabon, Thoth, Thor, Hermes, and The Green Man.

Mabon is considered a time of the Mysteries. It is a time to honor Aging Deities and the Spirit World. Considered a time of balance, it is when we stop and relax and enjoy the fruits of our personal harvests, whether they be from toiling in our gardens, working at our jobs, raising our families, or just coping with the hussle-bussle of everyday life. May your Mabon be memorable, and your hearts and spirits be filled to overflowing!

Happy Full Christmas Moon

Full Christmas Moon

By Tara Sutphen

The Full Christmas Moon (Native American) at 3* Cancer will culminate, December 25, 2015 3:11PdT/6:11pm EdT (Farmers Almanac).

This Cancer Full Moon is celebrated this year on the Holiday Christmas. There will not be another full moon on Christmas until 2034. The meaning of this moon is all about expressing yourself in the best possible way. Making an effort to be sincere. There are many times we are asked to awaken to our lives. And how appropriate for this full moon to be on a major world holiday where we are thrown together with family, friends and strangers. The Moon is your personal spotlight and shines down to help create good faith. Some of us resist and don’t want to participate. But this year the coast is clear. That’s if we step into our better selves and create some good karma. I don’t think spilling our guts might be the answer on a festive full moon. But the people who are meaningful for you, make sure to speak up and share a moment. Life is comprised of many such opportunities and it’s important to say what we mean and mean what we say. As there is an old adage and truth, we won’t pass this way again.

If we all started to appreciate the experiences in our lives, instead of being bored or too self-absorbed, we might release our personal suffering. Just remember to ask questions. Queries take the pressure from you having to answer. Get those conversations going and memories made. In the olden days the old folks could be square, well…”don’t be square”. The subject isn’t important, be honorable or listen on a deeper level. Quelling the loneliness of another or sharing a sentiment. Making others happy leads to our own happiness. And if we don’t have anyone around on the holiday, make yourself your own best company. Cook, read a book or watch movies, just be at your best. And if you’re in the dumps over losing loved ones, they want your happiness, rest assured they would revel in your new memories. We have to learn to live, every moment counts. And this Full Moon reminds us: Love our lives, love the people in our lives. Grant yourself permission to do the best you can…in any situation. Greeting others and letting ourselves be noticed as part of the memory.

Winter Solstice & Yule – DEC 21

Winter Solstice & Yule

By Tara Sutphen

Dec 21: The Winter Solstice is a celebration of the heart, vessel of our dreams. Through the darkest time on the planet we are to find solace once again, returning to our inner resting place. Gallantly gazing upon our life’s daily uncertainty and unknowing future. May the earth fold us in comfort away from any harshness. As the light dims we are to harmonize and begin to sincerely replenish our hearts and minds. The pagans called this holiday Yule, where the people of Europe and Scandinavia made festive. It is not considered religious. The pagans were naturalists, such as the Native Americans and other indigenous communities around the world. They followed the course of the sun, the moon and cycles of the seasons for planting food and generally planning survival strategy. As winter comes we recognize our need to rest our minds, hearts and bodies while warming at the hearth. And as we come back out of the darkest day-night of the year and begin to gain more minutes of sunlight and replenishment each day. We linger for a glimmer of light to awaken, reconnecting our spark to life, to the sun and the conviviality of our own beating heart.

Summer Solstice

Summer  Solstice, Midsummer, Litha

By Tara Sutphen

21st June

“In the world’s audience hall, the simple blade of grass sits on the same carpet with the sunbeams, and the stars of midnight” – Rabindranath Tagore (Indian Poet, Playwright and Essayist, Won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913, 1861-1941)

Summer Solstice marks the end of the waxing year.  And the rays of the sun directly strike one of the two tropical latitude lines.  June 21 marks the beginning of summer in the northern hemisphere, as  winter begins in the southern hemisphere. On this day, the earth’s “circle of luminescence” will be from the Arctic Circle to the Antarctic Circle. The equator receives twelve hours of daylight, as there will be 24 hours of daylight at the North Pole and 24 hours of darkness at the South Pole. All over the world people honor this day as an important reminder of the apex of light and to cast away evil and their problems. Northern Hemisphere inhabitants use June 21 as the day of celebration, but the splendor of light lasts from new moon to full moon.

Worshipping the Sun’s great power, all cultures celebrate in some way. Celts and Slavs dance around bonfires while Chinese marked the day honoring Li, the Goddess of Light. The celebrants of modern and ancient ceremonies tune in that life comes from the sun. It is life giving and life supporting.  We’ve recently had the good fortune to have electricity, greenhouses, and shipment suppliers. How will you celebrate? We all may not get a chance to dance around the bonfire but it’s a time to bask in the light, sit in the sun, cast our worries away and awaken to our lives.

Combine strawberries and water in saucepan. Cook until just softened, about 4 or 5 minutes. (Let frozen berries thaw; heat but don’t cook them.) Mix together cornstarch, sugar, and water until smooth; add to hot berries. Cook over medium heat until clear. Add lemon juice; immediately remove from heat and let cool.
